How to use this chart

Baby clothes are labelled in at least four different ways depending on where they were made: UK-style month ranges, US labels that are often a single number, European sizes in centimetres, and height sizes common on clothes made for Asian markets. Our sizes, from 0–3M to 18–24M, follow standard international baby sizing and use month ranges.

The lists below are arranged by our sizes, with the nearest equivalents in each system. They are approximate, because each system is built slightly differently and brands cut differently within them. Before you buy, compare your baby’s height and weight with each brand’s own chart; when a label gives a height or weight, trust that over any conversion, and check it against our size guide.

0–3M and 3–6M

  • Our 0–3M (about 56–62 cm, 4–6 kg): UK 0–3 months; US 0–3M or 3M; EU 56 and 62; Asian height size 59. UK and US shops also sell a smaller Newborn or “up to 1 month” size, and EU 50 is smaller again.
  • Our 3–6M (about 62–68 cm, 6–8 kg): UK 3–6 months; US 3–6M or 6M; EU 68; Asian height size 66.

6–12M

If a baby wears UK 9–12 months, US 12M or EU 80, they are at the top of our 6–12M; for a gift, our 12–18M may be the better choice.

The split explains a common surprise. A baby moving from UK 6–9 months into 9–12 months has changed size in that system, but may still be comfortably inside our single 6–12M. Equally, a baby at the very start of 6–9 months may find our 6–12M roomy for a few weeks. Checking their length against the chart tells you which end of the range they are at.

  • Our 6–12M covers the second half of the first year in one size. Its equivalents are split in two in most other systems.
  • UK: 6–9 months and 9–12 months.
  • US: 6–9M, 9M, 9–12M and 12M.
  • EU: 74 and 80.
  • Asian height sizes: 73, and 80 for a baby at the top of the range.

12–18M and 18–24M

  • Our 12–18M: UK 12–18 months; US 12–18M or 18M; EU 86; Asian height size 80 or 90, depending on the baby’s length.
  • Our 18–24M: UK 18–24 months; US 18–24M or 24M; EU 92; Asian height size 90.
  • After that, children’s sizes begin: 2–3Y in UK and European-style sizing, 2T in the US. Our size guide covers 2–3Y and up for custom orders.

Reading each system in more detail

  • US labels: a single number like 6M usually means up to that age, so it is closer to 3–6M than to 6–12M.
  • EU labels: the number is the baby’s length in centimetres, in 6 cm steps.
  • Asian height sizes: numbers like 59, 66 and 73 in roughly 7 cm steps, sometimes with the chest after a slash.
  • Gulf shops: a mix of all of the above, often with Arabic.
  • Units: to switch between centimetres and inches, see our size guide, which gives both.

When a label shows several sizes

Many tags now print a size in two or three systems at once, such as “3–6 M / 68 cm / 6M”. Use the most precise line: a centimetre height, or a height and weight range, beats a month range, and a month range beats a single number. If the lines seem to disagree, go by the baby’s actual length, and if they fall between two sizes, choose the larger.

Once you have the size, you can browse our baby range. If you are buying from abroad and are still unsure, send us the baby’s length and weight on WhatsApp and we will help you choose; we usually reply within an hour.

Quick answers

What is a US 6M in UK sizes?

Usually about 3–6 months, because US single-number sizes tend to mean up to that age, though US brands vary. Check the height and weight on the brand’s chart to be sure.

What EU size is 6–12 months?

Roughly two EU sizes, 74 and 80. As a rough guide, a baby up to about 74 cm long fits 74 and a longer baby 80, but go by your baby’s length and the brand’s own chart rather than their age.

Are your sizes the same as UK baby sizes?

Our sizes use the same month ranges as UK labels, from 0–3M to 18–24M, except that we combine 6–9 and 9–12 months into one 6–12M size.

Which size system is the most accurate?

Any label that gives the baby’s length in centimetres, or a height and weight range, is more precise than one that only gives an age. Whatever the system, compare the label with your baby’s own length.
